We’ve new eyewear! Our latest hit of Karen Walker sunglasses introduces some old classics and a soon to be icon. Crazy Tortoiseshell is always a hit because Karen does it a little bigger and a little better than most other brands, couple that with the cat-eye shaping of Anytime and we think it’s a hit.

Set to arrive in two weeks and counting, our latest Cambridge Satchel Co. collection! We have all the usual beauties, including yellow, tan, red and purple but also the new graphite grey glitter, here’s a peak…

Let us not forget the 4-day bank holiday too! Following the massive success of James Brown’s Royal Wedding print last year we were chuffed to see that he will be bringing more regal celebrations to our walls!

There’s also a pretty fantastic commission by one of our favourite illustrators that will soon be finding a picture frame. Hold tight!

Big birthdays call for big cakes, and when Diana Henry says it’s the best cake in her repertoire you just have to make it.

Have you been to Tennessee?

Both heritage names which means they reproduce the same shape and design introducing fresh colours and fabrics each season. The Bensimon tennis lace-up was a favourite of Bardot while the Italian plimsolls in the 2750 classic are a 1910 design no less.

And let’s not forget the premium line Dr Martens for the season too, oh and the Pointer wedges…

Beautiful sunshine at Somerset House, a great Pain aux Raisins courtesy of Tom’s Kitchen and a feast for the eyes to boot!

A real eclectic mix of illustration was represented and for us this image, part of series, although harking back to the 80s looked pretty fresh.

Then a walk along the Thames to Tate Modern for Yayoi Kusama, a really impressively curated exhibition. It reminded me of the Warhol Live show we saw in San Francisco, also chronologically hung but more specifically due to the recreation of spaces. A room covered in signature dots each of which glow in the dark for example, was filled with paraphernalia from everyday life. The comparison didn’t end there though, as the written guide suggested that not only were they working at the same time but also that Kusama pre-dated Warhol’s repeat prints with the wallpaper she created for her piece 1000 Boats.

After our visit to NYC and La Esquina last year, we had to try the London-affiliated outpost. Okay, so we visited the cafe (the restaurant is a definite for next time) but even with a smaller menu it was a treat. And those cocktails, lordy…

A fan of baking, I’ve yet to undertake the ‘bun’. Was all the rising etc ever worth it for home-made Hot Cross Buns? By jove Dan Lepard it was! With a dozen made I’m desperately wondering how I’ll go back to cereal once the butter-slathered toasted beauties are finished.

Biba legend Barbara Hulanicki will be in conversation following the a showing of her film.

Shoe designer Manolo Blahnik interviewed by Iain R Webb is one of the hot tickets of the week for sure, but loving this neat discovery of him interviewed by China Chow. Fashion and milkshakes? Interested. And as for this collaboration with Damien Hirst, that’s some sweet wearable art there.

Home to fashion and art, Bath plays host to some great galleries including the Bo.Lee off Queen Street. Gallery owner Jemma is holding an exhibition of fashion photographer Zena Holloway whose work features in Dazed & Confused, FT, GQ and The Sunday Times.

Talking of exhibitions, make sure you head down to The Holborne Museum to see milliner Stephen Jones’ pieces. After seeing how artfully he curated his work at the V&A I can’t wait to see it in a new context.

We’ve a mix of different size bowls and plates, and what’s more they work really well with our Falcon tumblers. Bring back some 90′s vernacular with some ‘mix and match’! Waaaasssup!

They look great with a pop neon colour, here courtesy of a Hay tea towel, but have neat rustic kitchen feel with our linen recipe tea towels.

And finally, from Paris here are our new lamps! Handmade from recycled bottles complete with a bright flex they are available in jars or bottles, and in our opinion look great just with a naked bulb, no shade necessary.

What we like about Epice aside from the quality and fabrics is that they combine colour in a bold way that still remains wearable. They are also passionate travellers, taking inspiration from new surroundings whilst aiding some of the countries that create some of their pieces. In short, they work outside of fashion whilst always remaining relevant.

Make like Lorraine Candy, editor of Elle, who’s just started a daily blog and wear the Neon Pop scarf with it’s soft feel and bright colour it’ll perk up any outfit. Bookmark her blog too, it’s an insightful read, as she’s a working mum at the helm of a leading UK glossy but who doesn’t take fashion too seriously.

The Moorish Repeat Scarf reminds me of the tiles found in Southern Spain, and the geometric, floral shape albeit smaller than Prada’s print is pretty darn similar.

A personal favourite of mine is Tidal Stripe design. Rich with colour and in a linen-cotton mix it has a good shape that will soften through the season. Plus anything that reminds me of these painters is good by me. This is the Ocean colourway but there’s also Tropical and Thunder – digging those names too.
